Study of the larval development of Anguillicola crassus (Dracunculoidea, Nematoda) in a cyclopid in the Paris region

, : Study of the larval development of Anguillicola crassus (Dracunculoidea, Nematoda) in a cyclopid in the Paris region. Annales de Parasitologie Humaine et Comparee 64(5): 347-355

The development of A. crassus larvae was studied in the laboratory in Acanthocyclops robustus collected in Seine-et-Marne, France. The ova contained L2 (230-290 micro m in length and 20 micro m wide) which were loosely enveloped by the sheath of the L1. The larvae hatched on the 2nd day at 20-22 degrees C and in 7-8 days at outdoor temperatures.
