A subacute disease with cardiovascular signs and heart and liver lesions occurs in cattle over large areas of southeastern Brazil in pastures containing Tetrapterys spp. - T. acutifolia and T. multiglandulosa. The disease was reproduced in experimental cattle with the leaves and fruits of these plants.
