Two groups of Laramane e Zeze (Black Pied) cows were given rations with varying energy levels during the dry-off period. The control group was given a maintenance ration, whereas the experimental group was given a high-energy ration to improve body reserves. The experimental group gained more wt during drying-off and had a higher milk yield for the first 3 months after calving. Reproduction indices were better in the experimental group.
