The use of analysis of structure to determine quality of a Festuca arundinacea meadow under different utilization regimes

, : The use of analysis of structure to determine quality of a Festuca arundinacea meadow under different utilization regimes. Rivista di Agronomia 25(2): 268-274

In field trials at Carmagnola, Italy in 1986-87, F. arundinacea Clarine swards were cut every 14 or 28 d or 45-55 d. Data on ADF, NDF and acid detergent lignin content are given for spring, summer and autumn. CP content of leaves and stems decreased with increasing delay between cuts in spring and autumn but in winter, was greater with a longer interval between cuts.
