, : Tick-borne virus infections of marine birds. Advances in Disease Vector Research 5: 25-60

Since 1962 when the first isolation of a tickborne virus of any seabird was made, approximately 50 tickborne viruses or variants belonging to 8 different serogroups, plus a few ungrouped viruses, have been isolated from ticks (Ixodes, Amblyomma, Argas and Ornithodoros) infesting marine birds from practically all the oceanic coasts of the world.
