Tourism and development in Northern Europe

, : Tourism and development in Northern Europe. Tourisme et amenagement en Europe du Nord: 248pp.

Dominant tourism images would seem to suggest that tourists travel only to countries such as Greece and Portugal, Thailand and Martinique, in search of the sun. However, tourism development in the countries of northern Europe is well advanced. The book demonstrates, through a study of 14 countries, how the wealth of tourist attractions in northern European generate sizeable tourist flows. Part one discusses the basis of tourism and leisure development.
