A multidimensional index of financial stress in the farm sector

, : A multidimensional index of financial stress in the farm sector. Social Indicators Research 29(3): 307-316

This study develops a multidimensional measure of financial stress in US agriculture using confirmatory factor analysis. By examining the common variation in indicators of financial stress, the study is able to compare the level of financial stress in the 1980s with that in the 1930s. It first examines economy-wide measures of well-being, particularly the impacts of unemployment and inflation.
