A new case of intestinal capillariasis in Egypt

, : A new case of intestinal capillariasis in Egypt. Journal of Tropical Medicine 2(2): 75-76

The case is reported of a 22-year-old woman from Fayoum, Upper Egypt, who presented with a 4 months history of diarrhoea, vomiting and weight loss. Routine stool examinations were negative for parasites. Microscopic examination of duodenal aspirate revealed ova of Capillaria philippinensis, while histology of duodenal biopsy specimens revealed adult worms embedded in the mucosa.
