The development of organic farming in Japan is considered with special reference to the use of aerial spraying. The distribution of aerial spraying in Japan and the increase in aerial spraying since 1962 are discussed. Limitations in spraying which are a result of organic farming procedures are considered. The distribution of aerial spraying in Yamagata Prefecture and especially in the Takahata area are considered in more detail.
