Cytokine production of peripheral blood mononuclear cells in a patient with sporotrichosis in response to stimulation with sporotrichin

, : Cytokine production of peripheral blood mononuclear cells in a patient with sporotrichosis in response to stimulation with sporotrichin. Acta Dermato-Venereologica 74(4): 328-328

A case is reported in a 48-yr-old woman from Japan with lymphocutaneous sporotrichosis. Sporothrix schenckii was cultured. When peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from the patient were incubated with sporotrichin, high levels of interferon- gamma (IFN- gamma ), interleukin-2 (IL-2) and granulocyte/macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) were detected in the culture supernatant.
