Exotic macadamia establishes well where guava grows with ease

, : Exotic macadamia establishes well where guava grows with ease. Indian Horticulture 35(4): 9-10

Macadamia (Macadamia integrifolia) cultivars Kakea and Keauhau were introduced from Australia. Macadamia was found to be similar to guava in its soil and climatic requirements. It was best propagated by wedge-grafting of seedling rootstocks raised from well-mature husked nuts. It is recommended that plants are spaced 9-10 m apart with an annual fertilizer application of 450 g N + 150 g P2O5 + 500 g K2O/plant. The crop was virtually free from pests and diseases.
