French farm and food products on external markets since 1970

, : French farm and food products on external markets since 1970. Cahiers d' Economie et Sociologie Rurales ( 27): 76-94

National specialization of production involves investing in the production of certain products whilst limiting the production of others. This process is apparent in the French food and farm sector, which in concentrating on its export market, has exhibited increased specialization and concurrent withdrawal. Products chosen for specialization are generally those which have always been national strong points, and secondly those that have been relatively dynamic on foreign markets.
