Fruits from the flooded forests of Peruvian Amazonia: yield estimates for natural populations of three promising species

, : Fruits from the flooded forests of Peruvian Amazonia: yield estimates for natural populations of three promising species. Advances in Economic Botany 8: 159-176

Myrciaria dubia (a shrub or small tree), Grias peruviana (a medium-sized tree) and Spondias mombin (a large tree) are common in the flooded forests of Peruvian Amazonia and considerable quantities of their fruit are collected for local consumption or sale. Natural populations of each species were inventoried and mapped, and size-specific fruit production rates were quantified.
