Greenhouse cooling

, : Greenhouse cooling. North Carolina Flower Growers' Bulletin 38(2): 15-18

The basic mechanisms used for cooling a greenhouse are introduced. The importance of transpiration in affecting greenhouse temp. is discussed. The performance of exhaust fans, evaporative pads and fogging systems in full and near-empty greenhouses was assessed. Fogging was considered to be the best solution where little transpiration was available. Current design recommendations for greenhouse cooling in North Carolina are presented.
