In vitro manipulations of Pyrus species and Cydonia oblonga

, : In vitro manipulations of Pyrus species and Cydonia oblonga. Acta Horticulturae ( 300): 45-50

This paper discusses: (1) optimization of micropropagation procedures; (2) induction of adventitious shoot formation; and (3) characterization and selection of rootstocks with differential responses to low Fe availability in pear and quince. A particularly important condition for micropropagation was high light intensity (135 micro mol m-2 s-1) which enhanced the multiplication rate and enlarged leaf size in Pyrus.
