Recent advances in resistance research of soybean mosaic virus

, : Recent advances in resistance research of soybean mosaic virus. Soybean Science 11(4): 343-350

Research into resistance of soyabeans to soybean mosaic potyvirus (SMV) carried out in recent years is discussed with respect to (1) screening for resistance genes that have been used in genetic and breeding studies of resistance; (2) the genetic model and relationships among resistance genes from different resistance sources; and (3) the taxonomy of SMV strains and the action of SMV proteinases, identified by analysis of nucleotide sequences and coat protein genes.
