Success in acid/low fertility soils in Colombia

, : Success in acid/low fertility soils in Colombia. Proceedings of the Workshop on adaptation of plants to soil stresses, 1-4 August 1993, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE, USA: 221-233

Sorghum bicolor has a large reservoir of genetic diversity, and is well adapted to semi-arid and other marginal agricultural production areas of the world; however, it has poor acid soil tolerance. In 1982, a field screening programme was initiated in Colombia to evaluate the world collection of sorghum accessions originating from acid soil areas in Africa for tolerance to the acid soil complex.
