Utilization of wild Erectoides species in the genus Arachis for the improvement of cultivated groundnut. II. Karyotype analysis

, : Utilization of wild Erectoides species in the genus Arachis for the improvement of cultivated groundnut. II. Karyotype analysis. Acta Agriculturae Boreali Sinica 7(1): 47-55

The chromosome complements of 7 wild Arachis species, 5 from section Erectoides and 2 from section Arachis, were analysed at ICRISAT, India, in 1988-89. All the wild species were diploid with a chromosome length of 2.69-6.47 micro m and arm ratio of 1.07-2.54. Karyotypes of all the species were generally symmetrical, with 8-9 pairs of metacentric and 1-2 pairs of submetacentric chromosomes.
