The correspondents comment on the article by Butterworth (Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (1992) 86, 1-2) and suggest that it is too early to limit research to one particular strategy (induction of responses regulated by the Th2 subset of T-helper cells). Equally viable alternatives are discussed briefly.
