Characteristics of spectral reflection and yield estimation models for alpine meadows

, : Characteristics of spectral reflection and yield estimation models for alpine meadows. Acta Prataculturae Sinica 3(2): 59-64

In 4 communities in alpine meadows in Tianzhu County, Gansu, there was no significant difference between herb and shrub communities in the spectral reflectance at 400-650 nm but there were marked differences at 700-1050 nm. The differences were affected by background soil and plant height. Significant or highly significant non-linear correlations were found between a vegetation index and the community biomass in communities of Elymus/Poa, Polygonum vivaparum and Kobresia capillifolia.
