Douglas-fir forests: managing for timber and mature-forest habitat

A conceptual basis is described for silvicultural systems that integrate mature-forest wildlife habitat and timber objectives in managed Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) forests of western Oregon and Washington.
