Effect of cold acclimatisation and ABA on membrane stability and synthesis of membrane protein in citrus

, : Effect of cold acclimatisation and ABA on membrane stability and synthesis of membrane protein in citrus. Journal of Nanjing Agricultural University 17(1): 1-5

Cold resistance was induced in satsuma leaves by artificial cold acclimatization (CA) and ABA treatment. During the development of cold resistance, the electrical conductivity decreased (indicating better membrane stability) and malondialdehyde content also fell. Peroxidase (pI 8.4) and superoxidase (pI 5.5) activities, together with free spermine and spermidine contents, increased, but free putrescine content decreased sharply. Membrane protein content increased and the profiles changed.
