The application of bioremediation techniques for the clean up, in situ of hazardous waste sites to the Petro Processors, Inc. (PPI) Superfund site Louisiana, in the USA was investigated. Primary contaminants at the PPI site were chlorinated organics such as hexachlorobenzene and hexachlorobutadiene.
