Evaluation of Lydium KLP+ - lysozyme dimer used for the first time in the treatment of bronchopneumonia and gastroenteritis in calves

, : Evaluation of Lydium KLP+ - lysozyme dimer used for the first time in the treatment of bronchopneumonia and gastroenteritis in calves. Proceedings 18th World Buiatrics Congress: 26th Congress of the Italian Association of Buiatrics, Bologna, Italy, August 29 September 2, 1994 Volume 1: 607-610

82 cases of bronchopneumonia and 69 cases of gastroenteritis were examined. Over 70% of calves suffered from an acute or subacute form of the diseases. All animals were treated at first with Lydium only, intravenously at doses ranging from 0.02 to 0.08 mg/kg body weight, repeated 2-4 times at 12-24 h intervals, or in a single dose of 0.02 mg/kg. The best results were seen with the use of Lydium: 54 calves affected with the acute form of gastroenteritis recovered (94.4%).
