The distribution of soil microorganisms and its relation to physicochemical soil charcteristics

, : The distribution of soil microorganisms and its relation to physicochemical soil charcteristics. Mededelingen van de Faculteit Landbouwwetenschappen, Universiteit Gent 58(4a): 1787-1790

The effect of soil physical and chemical properties of a Chernozem and a silty soil on the spatial distribution of microorganisms within soil aggregates. In the Chernozem soil the oligotrophic bacteria, fungi, and ammonifiers were more common in the inner than the outer layers of the soil aggregates whereas members of the genera Arthobacter and Pseudomonas showed no spatial differentiation.
