The effects of nutrient solution salinity and composition during fruit development on the nutrient dynamics and fruit quality of strawberry Fern plants in soilless culture were investigated. The greatest marketable fruit yield (1113 g/plant) was obtained with the control solution, which had an electrical conductivity (EC) of 900 micro S/cm, a K:(Ca + Mg) ratio of 0.73 and NO3 as the N source (as opposed to NO3 + NH4). Reducing the K:(Ca + Mg) ratio to 0.20 reduced fruit acidity.
