, : A quantitative analysis of demand for meat items in Greece, 1965-1992. Scottish Agricultural Economics Review ( 9): 47-56

An analysis is carried out of consumer demand for meat items in Greece during the period 1965-92. Seven meat items are considered: beef, mutton-lamb, pigmeat, chicken, frozen meat, sausages and other meats. According to the findings, beef, mutton-lamb, chicken and frozen meat can be classified as necessities, whereas pigmeat and sausages have expenditure elastic demands.
