Analgesic activity and effects on isolated smooth muscle of different fractions of hexane extract from Araujia sericifera B

, : Analgesic activity and effects on isolated smooth muscle of different fractions of hexane extract from Araujia sericifera B. Phytotherapy Research 10(4): 337-339

The pharmacological properties of MeOH-soluble and -insoluble fractions obtained from the hexane extract of fruits of A. sericifera (collected from Spain) were investigated. The MeOH fraction was inactive. The insoluble MeOH fraction exhibited analgesic properties in models of chemical and thermal stimulus in mice, and it reduced the Emax induced by histamine in vitro against guineapig ileum.
