Analysis of the genetic variability of Asian and North American populations of sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka Walbaum) by multivariate statistical methods

, : Analysis of the genetic variability of Asian and North American populations of sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka Walbaum) by multivariate statistical methods. Genetika Moskva 32(7): 962-977

Original and published data on biochemical polymorphism in 86 populations of sockeye salmon were analysed. 38 enzyme systems controlled by 87 genes were studied, and polymorphism was demonstrated for 43 of the genes. There was highly significant heterogeneity of gene frequencies among stocks within the Asian and American populations. Principal component analyses were carried out on data in respect of some of the genes.
