Commercial applications of the SRI swirl burner combustion system

, : Commercial applications of the SRI swirl burner combustion system. Proceedings of the 1997 conference of the Australian Society of Sugar Cane Technologists held at Cairns, Queensland, 29th April to 2nd May 1997: 456-465

The SRI Swirl Burner Combustion System (SBCS) is a high-intensity combustion process applicable to a wide range of biomass fuels. Development of this advanced technology to the commercial scale was completed in 1992 at Farleigh Mill. Subsequent applications in Thailand, which established it as a proven full-scale commercial technology, have used 4 biomass fuels (sanderdust, sawdust, bagasse and palm oil fibre) in combination with several furnace designs.
