Contribution to the study of tick vectors (Acarina: Ixodina) of Crimea-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) in Senegal. 1 - Analysis of parasitism in small rodents

, : Contribution to the study of tick vectors (Acarina: Ixodina) of Crimea-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) in Senegal. 1 - Analysis of parasitism in small rodents. Acarologia 36(4): 287-292

From 1987-89, ticks were collected from rodents, mostly Arvicanthis niloticus and Mastomys erythroleucus, and from ungulates in Bandia, Senegal. Hyalomma truncatum and Rhipicephalus guilhoni immature ticks infested rodents at the end of the rainy season, with a larval peak in October and a nymphal infestation peak in December. Dynamics of the tick populations of both species were compared. H. truncatum and R. guilhoni presented a similar pattern, with one cycle per year.
