Effect of annual apricot pruning on tree growth and fruit quality

, : Effect of annual apricot pruning on tree growth and fruit quality. Vedecke Prace Ovocnarske ( 15): 65-78

The effect of detailed spring pruning by hand every year of spurs in apricot cultivars Velkopavlovicka, Lejuna, Vestar and Skaha was investigated in 2 trials at ZD Velke Bilovice, Czech Republic in 1991-95. In the 1st trial, with Velkopavlovicka only, canopy volume and fruit yield were reduced, but the fruit yield per 1 msuperscript 3 of tree crown was increased compared with unpruned trees.
