Effect of seed regimes and seed rates on growth and yield of rice in direct seeding on dry paddy

, : Effect of seed regimes and seed rates on growth and yield of rice in direct seeding on dry paddy. RDA Journal of Agricultural Science Rice 38(1): 79-84

This experiment was carried out at National Crop Experiment Station in 1995 to obtain basic information of growth characters and yield of rice in direct seeding on dry paddy. Hwaseongbyeo sown on April 27 by drill seeding and hill seeding under various seed regimes and seeding rates. Seedling stands was higher in drill seedings than in hill seedings, and it also was the highest at seeding of disinfected seed, followed by seeding of soaked seed and pregeminated seed in both drill seeding and hill seeding on dry paddy. Missing hill rate was the highest at seeding of pregeminated seed which was 11-18%, followed by seeding of soaked seed and disinfected seed in hill seedings, and distance of missing hill was the same tendency with hill seeding among the seed regimes in drill seeding. No. of panicle per m-2 was about 400 panicles at seeding of disinfected seed and soaked seed in hill seeding and also at seeding of disinfected seed, soaked seed and pregeminated seed in drill seeding, but it was 320 panicles at seeding of pregeminated seed in hill seeding. Lodging index was the 86 apprx 133 in hill seeding and the 106 apprx 145 in drill seeding, and it was the lowest at seeding of pregeminated seed in both hill seeding and flat drill seeding. Milled rice was possible yielded 4.2 apprx 4.6t/ha at seeding of disinfected seed, soaked seed and pregeminated seed in drill seeding and also at seeding of pregeminated seed and soaked seed in hill seeding, but it was markedly low at seeding of pregeminated seed in hill seeding on dry paddy.
