Effect of water table depth in different soil texture on quality of barley and wheat grain

, : Effect of water table depth in different soil texture on quality of barley and wheat grain. Korean Journal of Crop Science 40(3): 278-284

In pot experiments, barley Olbori and wheat Grumil were grown in silt loam or sandy loam with water tables at 20, 30, 40, 50 and 70 cm depth. Filled grain ratio and grain specific gravity were not affected by soil texture or water table depth. 1000-grain weights were lower with lower water tables, but not affected by soil texture. Grain protein contents were higher, and crude lipid contents were lower with high water tables.
