The possibilities estimating the moisture content (MC) of sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis) by measuring density were investigated. The method is based on the relationship between the wood density and moisture content of wood expressed by equations. The purpose of this study was to examine the estimation of the moisture content of wood by density and the variation of moisture content with annual ring width of wood.
