Genetic variability and correlation studies for some pod and seed traits in khejri (Prosopis cineraria (L.) Druce)

, : Genetic variability and correlation studies for some pod and seed traits in khejri (Prosopis cineraria (L.) Druce). Indian Journal of Forestry 18(2): 161-164

Genetic variability in pod and seed characters (pod length, breadth, thickness and weight; seed length, breadth and thickness, and seeds per pod, seed weight per pod and 100-seed weight) of 25 trees of khejri (Prosopis cineraria) were studied at the research farm of Haryana Agricultural University at Hisar. Mean squares differed significantly for all the characters. Both, genotypic and phenotypic coefficients of variation were high for all the pod and seed characters except seed length.
