Inhibitory effects of persimmon (Diospyros kaki) extract and related polyphenol compounds on growth of human lymphoid leukemia cells

, : Inhibitory effects of persimmon (Diospyros kaki) extract and related polyphenol compounds on growth of human lymphoid leukemia cells. Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry 61(7): 1099-1101

The effects of an extract of fruits of D. kaki (PS) and related polyphenol compounds (catechin (C), epicatechin (EC), epicatechin gallate (ECG), epigallocatechin (EGC) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG)) on the growth of human lymphoid leukaemia Molt 4B cells were investigated. PS, ECG, EGC and EGCG strongly inhibited the growth of cells in a dose-dependent manner; C and EC moderately inhibited growth.
