Initial tests of synthetic-fiber mainlines for cable skidders

, : Initial tests of synthetic-fiber mainlines for cable skidders. Field Note: Skidding/Forwarding Forest Engineering Research Institute of Canada ( 33): 2 pp.

In these initial tests, Spectra rope, a synthetic fibre line, demonstrated adequate strength and handling characteristics to replace wire rope mainlines on cable skidders for long distance winching on sensitive sites where reduced in-stand travel is critical.
