, : Kinetic analysis of T cells and antibody production in chickens infected with Marek's disease virus. Journal of Veterinary Medical Science 57(5): 945-946

Chickens were vaccinated i.m. with an attenuated strain of MDV (CV1988) at 1 day after hatching and subsequently challenged intraperitoneally with a highly virulent strain of MDV (Md5) at 5 days after hatching. The CD4+ T cell population of these chickens was greatly decreased following a transient increase at 21 days after hatching. To elucidate the immune response after the decrease of CD4+ T cell population, the antibody production against sheep red blood cells (SRBC) was examined.
