Persistence of Polish Lolium perenne L. cultivars

, : Persistence of Polish Lolium perenne L. cultivars. Prace z Zakresu Nauk Rolniczych 81: 113-120

Results of a 3-year (1991-93) study of 5 cultivars and 3 experimental lines under simulated pasture conditions at Srem indicated that sugars and, in particular, chlorophyll pigments can be used as reliable indicators of cultivar persistence and of its response to changing environmental conditions. Persistence was closely correlated with weather conditions, being affected more by (lack of) precipitation than by (high) air temperature.
