Target-diameter thinning of young spruce stands

, : Target-diameter thinning of young spruce stands. Osterreichische Forstzeitung 107(2): 13-16

In connection with the planned conversion of pure even-aged Picea abies stands (in North Rhine-Westphalen, Germany; managed by clear-felling) to mixed uneven-aged stands which will be managed by flexible target-diameter methods, a comparison was made of the roundwood and lumber quality of P. abies trees of Kraft classes I and III, i.e. (pre-) dominants and co-dominants.
