The effect of salt stress on superoxide dismutase in various organelles of cotyledons of soyabean seedlings

, : The effect of salt stress on superoxide dismutase in various organelles of cotyledons of soyabean seedlings. Acta Agronomica Sinica 23(2): 214-219

In cotyledons of soyabean seedlings, 80, 11 and 9% of total superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity occurred in the cytosol, mitochondria and chloroplasts, respectively. Sensitivity of SOD activity to salt stress was highest in chloroplasts and lowest in the cytosol. SOD activity was higher in Wenfeng 7 than Union. Activity decreased with up to 10 dS/m salinity, but was not significantly different between 10 and 15 dS/m.
