The micro-economic evaluation of the reform of the CAP by means of a bio-economic model: an illustration from the Toulouse region

, : The micro-economic evaluation of the reform of the CAP by means of a bio-economic model: an illustration from the Toulouse region. Linking agricultural models: seminar proceedings, Montpellier, France, 14-15 June 1995: 71-75

The context of this article is the 1992 reform of the CAP, which has dramatically changed the relative costs of inputs and outputs and encouraged less intensive, and also less polluting, forms of agriculture. The results of an EU-funded project covering six regions of Europe are reported as they affect the French region of Toulouse. The effects of the reforms were analysed in respect of changes in revenue, production, irrigation and levels of nitrate pollution.
