Tuber quality attributes of TPS progenies in Southern Karnataka

, : Tuber quality attributes of TPS progenies in Southern Karnataka. Journal of the Indian Potato Association 23(1/2): 88-89

In a trial at Bangalore during the rabi season, 9 true potato seed (TPS) progenies were compared with seed tubers of Kufri Jyoti and given 62.5 kg N, 100 kg P2O5 and 125 kg K2O/ha. A further 62.5 kg N/ha was given at the 2nd earthing up. Tuber starch was highest at 72.2% in HPS-I/13, and crude protein was highest at 20.29% in HPS-II/67. Several other lines performed similarly. The highest reducing sugar contents were 0.818% in HPS-7/67 and 0.608% in MST-1.
