Understanding nature-based tourists: using psychographics

, : Understanding nature-based tourists: using psychographics. General Technical Report Intermountain Research Station, USDA Forest Service ( INT-323): 34-39

In identifying market segments and profiling tourists' characteristics, about 400 tourists' responses on a survey delineated their environmental attitudes, trip, and demographic characteristics. It identifies six benefits nature-based tourists seek: education/history, camping/tenting, socializing, relaxation, viewing nature, and economy. Tourists appear to seek a package of these benefits.
