Biodegradable and biodesintegrable films employed for the storage of long-life tomatoes

, : Biodegradable and biodesintegrable films employed for the storage of long-life tomatoes. Investigacion Agraria, Produccion y Proteccion Vegetales 13(1/2): 173-185

Tomato R-190 (Graziella) fruits were harvested at USDA ripening stage 6, were packed in fours in one of the following films: Ecostar 5, 10 and 15 p. 100 (biodisintegrable) or Mater-bi (biodegradable). For comparison, non-degradable PVC and RD-106 films were also used. Fruits were stored at 12 degrees C. Samples were taken every 7 days and some were transferred to 20 degrees C for a further 7 days to test their shelf life.
