, : Cerebral sparganosis: case report. Changgeng Yi Xue Za Zhi 22(2): 287-292

The case is described of a 19-year-old man who presented at the authors' hospital in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in September 1993, following an attack of general tonic-clonic convulsion. He had had his first seizure at the age of 7. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance images of the brain revealed multiple lesions over bilateral frontal areas. Parasitic infection was suspected and the patient was treated with 2400 mg/day praziquantel for a month, with little success.
