Content of the essential oil in the plant organs of lovage (Levisticum officinale Koch.) and yield of the raw material in different stages of its development

, : Content of the essential oil in the plant organs of lovage (Levisticum officinale Koch.) and yield of the raw material in different stages of its development. Herba Polonica 44(1): 11-15

At the Breeding Laboratory of the Institute of Medicinal Plants in Poznan, Poland, experiments evaluating the content of the essential oil in lovage organs and yields at the different stages of plant development were conducted in 1987-89, using 2-year-old plants. Samples of roots, stems, petioles, leaves and inflorescences were collected at 6 developmental stages: I leaf rosette, II leaf rosette with stem initiation, III stem formation, IV full flowering, V fruit set and VI ripe fruit.
