Rotylenchus troncapitatus sp. nov. found in the rhizosphere of Quercus alba in France is characterized by a truncate, annulated lip region and a spear length more than 42 micro m. It can be distinguished from R. capitatus and R. indorobustus in body length (1.0-1.2 vs. 0.6-0.9 and 0.9-1.0 mm) and spear length (43.6-50.3 vs. 26-29 and 32-35 micro m).
