Effect of tillage systems on the fertility and crop yields on a leached Chernozem

, : Effect of tillage systems on the fertility and crop yields on a leached Chernozem. Pochvoznanie, Agrokhimiia y Ekologiya 31(6): 9-12

A suitable system for managing a leached Chernozem soil (northern Bulgaria) involved tillage under a four-course crop rotation: 25-30 cm lowing in the first year, 18-22 cm scarifying for the tilled crop in the third year, and two-fold discing at 8-10 and 6-8 cm, respectively, in the second and fourth year for the cereal crop. This system ensured better soil water, soil physical conditions, microbiological activity.
